1. Entry. According to Vastu, the entrance to your home isn't just a doorway for people and belongings but also for energy. Your door should be attractive, built with superior wood, and unobstructed. The entry space should be inviting and well-lit. If you can, create a “spine of light,” meaning a clear line of sight from the front door to the back door.
2. Living room. This room is usually the most occupied by family and guests. Therefore, it should be kept clutter-free and preferably benefit from the morning light by facing east, north or north-east.
3. Courtyard. While not every home can have a central courtyard, it is a significant element of Vastu tradition and can be an incredible feature. This courtyard is called a Brahmasthan and is considered the most powerful zone in your home. Therefore keep it clean and clutter-free.
4. Bedroom. Your bedroom is your place of rest and should be all about balance. Even minor tweaks can improve the Vastu energy and relationships between couples. Ideally, the room should face southwest and avoid putting a mirror or television in front of the bed. Lastly, install light dimmers and paint your room earthy shades to encourage calming energy.
5. Enjoy beauty in the little details. Small elements like eating on beautiful plates every day or your choice of art can hugely impact your home's energy and design. So, select these items with care and intention.
